What to Expect On Your First Sunday at Lake Martin Presbyterian Church
You've decided to go. Maybe you drove in from Birmingham, Montgomery, or Atlanta Friday night or you live at Lake Martin. Whatever brought you here, one question is probably still sitting in the back of your mind. What actually happens when I walk in?
That question is normal, and it's the one this post is here to answer. Here's exactly what to expect on your first Sunday at Lake Martin Presbyterian Church.
Where and When
Sunday School begins at 8:15 AM, followed by worship at 9:30 AM. We meet at 691 Central Road, Eclectic, AL 36024. If you're coming from out of town, that's a manageable Sunday morning drive from most directions. We have several attendees from Birmingham, Montgomery, Auburn, and Atlanta that have lake houses at Lake Martin.
If you're leaving a lake house anywhere around Eclectic, Alexander City, Dadeville, or Equality, you're likely closer still. For exact directions, or if you're not sure how to find us from your specific spot on the lake, reach out through our contact page before Sunday and someone will point you the right way.
What the Service Looks Like
LMPC is a Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) congregation, which means our worship includes singing, corporate prayer, Scripture reading, and a sermon that works verse by verse through a book of the Bible.
About LMPC
We were organized out of a Bible study that started in 2020. First time faces are common here, not rare, and our leadership has intentionally shaped this church to be a place where a newcomer feels welcomed.
If you're only at the lake occasionally, we would still love for you to join us. A meaningful share of our congregation lives elsewhere and visits on that same kind of schedule.
Children's Ministry
If you're bringing children, ask at the door and someone will point you to where children's ministry happens that week. It's built for families who are here sometimes, not just families who are here every week.
